DJ of Bajan (West Indian) origin, he moved with his family to New York City in the early 60's. Influenced from the block partys in the bronx ect.. He took kool hercs merry go round technique which consisted of taking the break off of a record and looping it ,and then added Grand wizard Theodore's scratch technique and added both styles into each other ,which later on and now is refered to as cutting the break. Flash took his new style to the the block partys in the mid 70s, and to which eventually mc'ing/rapping was introduced over the top to hype the crowd ,this was a key moment in hip hop history as this has paved the way for the whole generations of hip hop heads and djs worldwide since and to this day .
