Gregg Allman

Real Name:
Gregory Lenoir Allman
Profile:
Born: December 8, 1947, Nashville, Tennessee
Brother to Duane Allman. The two brothers played in a band, The Escorts and Allman Joys, and after moving to California, and landed a contract with Liberty Records, they renamed the band to The Hour Glass.
After two Psychedelic releases, wich Duane didn't like, they split up, and Duane moved back to the south.
Liberty Records wanted Gregg to go solo, and Hour Glass disbanded. Gregg became tired of that arrangement, and joined his brother in his new formed group, when they needed a singer. This was the beginning of The Allman Brothers Band.
Once married to actress and singer Cher, 1975 to 1979.
