G.O.D.

Real Name:
Gregor Otto Dietz
Profile:
Born on April 19th 1967, he died on May 31st 2005 at the age of 38 due to a cerebral apoplexy.

From 1990 he organised the first techno parties in Mannheim, Germany and was so one of the first generation DJs active in the German scene.

In the same year he played under his pseudonym DJ G.O.D. at the famous club "Milk!" in Mannheim, "Normal" in Heidelberg or "House" in Dossenheim and brought this new sound to the audience.

Till the closing of the WoM (World Of Music) branch in Mannheim in April 1994, he was often seen there as a DJ in the middle of the store playing his favourite fresh tunes and helped a lot of freaks in their purchasing decisions.

In 1994 he opened the recordstore "Dub Tools" in Heidelberg, which was sold in 1995 to Goa Records, Mannheim.

At the end of the 1990s he moved to Berlin and founded, with his brother Florian Dietz, the project "Surf".

GOD stands for Greg "Overcross" Die.
