Gustav Theodor Holst (September 21, 1874 – May 25, 1934) was an English composer. He is most famous for his orchestral suite The Planets. His music was influenced by Indian spiritualism and English folk tunes, and is well known for unconventional use of meter and haunting melodies. He was the father of the composer and conductor Imogen Holst.
