HTRK, also known as 'hate rock trio', is a three-piece band from Melbourne, currently residing in the UK.
hTRKRTIO began performing in 2003 as a duo consisting of Sean Stewart and Nigel Yang, both ex-members of Portraits of Hugo Perez. Later adding vocalist Jonnine Davis, the group took on a more haunting sound.
Citing such major influences as the electronic music label Mego, The Birthday Party, Krautrock, David Lynch and Suicide, HTRK combined highly textured guitar noise with groove-laden basslines and simple drum machine patterns.
On 22nd March 2010, HTRK announced the death of Sean Stewart on their MySpace profile: "Sean Stewart R.I.P. b. 6 Feb 1981, d.18 Mar 2010"
