Himuro

Real Name:
Yoshiteru Himuro
Profile:
Himuro's first album Nichiyobi was released in 1998 by the English record label Worm Interface, alongside artists like Tom Jenkinson (Squarpusher) and Freeform. His releases are mostly within the electronic music genres of drum and bass, Electronica, Hip hop, Braindance and IDM, with a significant jazz influence .

His style is often described in the media as very playful. It is comprised of finely chopped, fast rhythms in combination with jazzy bass and synthesizer lines and 8bit sounds (like video game music). In this area he is one of the prominent Japanese musicians of this time.

Some of his pieces have been featured on John Peel´s Radio show on BBC Radio 1 and one was later released as an mp3 on the Tribute to John Peel Series, as a free download.

In his Live Acts he uses primarily his laptop, MIDI controllers and effects processors.

The amazing Japanese musician Yoshiteru Himuro has been released on some excellent labels : Worm Interface, Couchblip and Zod Records. Dismantling the entire 8-bit aesthetic (with bleeps, sci-fi arpeggios, laserguns and crash-beatz) and putting it back together even better in an incredible dystro-disco style, he has become one of the masters of his genre ...

Yoshiteru Himuro has been creating music since 1997 and resides in the beautiful city of Fukuoka in Japan. He has three releases to date on the UK based Worm Interface Label and his music has been featured on high profile shows such as John Peel's The Peel sessions.
He has been creating electronic music that blurs the line between hip-hop, 8 bit video game soundtracks, dystronic jungle, melancholic electronica and 90's acid. A fresh wind blows on Fukuoka ...
