| Profile: | Hip Hop For Respect is not necessarily an artist directly. It is a project organized & created by Mos Def & Talib Kweli to speak out against police brutality. The project came together in 2000 on Rawkus Records with a host of MC's featured as guests.
The artists included the organizers: Mos Def, Talib Kweli. What?, John Forte, Fre, J-Live, Rubix, Invincible, Wordsworth, A.L., Kofi Taha, Tame One, Jane Doe, Grafh, Shyheim, Channel Live, Wise Intelligent, Crunch Lo, Rock of Heltah Skeltah, Nonchalant, Ras Kass, Dead Prez, & Parrish Smith. Producers included: Mr. Khallyl, Organized Noize Productions, & 88-Keys.
NOTE To Users: Technically this is not an artist and the Rawkus release "Hip Hop For Respect" should be entered as "Various". However due to the large number of artists that appear, and in order to clean up the sloppy and confusing look of the page, the artist "Hip-Hop For Respect" was created. Its only members are Mos Def & Talib Kweli, the organizers of the project. For the sake of less confusion, please do not add all of the other MC's that appear above to this group.
