Real Name:
Erik Garcia, Oscar Mayorga
Profile:
The Mexican group Hocico was officially formed in 1993 by Erk Aicrag (lyrics & vocals) and Racso Agroyam (synthesizer, programming). The names are ananyms of the real names Erik Garcia and Oscar Mayorga. Both cousins had been experimenting with electronic music, mixing Industrial and EBM, since they were fifteen years old and formed a band in 1992 called Hocico de Perro. The first live gig of Hocico was on February 18, 1994. Their music can be described as dark and aggressive electronica. Their lyrics are mostly English although some songs are in Spanish.
The Spanish word hocico means snout and is a derogatory term that indicates ugliness (i.e., ugly as a dog's snout).

"Hambre En El Alma" like war cry and under the flag of the Elektro-Dark we have to Hocico. Integrated by the keyboardist Racso Agroyam and the vocalist Erk Aicrag who were given to know in the scene of the Electro with the album "Odio Bajo El Alma".

Following the steps of bands like Leæther Strip and Skinny Puppy, they have a long trajectory. Their albums more representative are "Curded Land", "Los Hijos Del Infierno" y "Sangre Hirviente".

Perhaps, Racso and Erk are among the first ten bands representatives of the Electro in America.

Hard, dark and violent EBM/Industrial from Mexico. Hocico's music usually takes 1 of 2 forms: super hard and dancy with harsh vocals, along the lines of Suicide Commando and Tactical Sekt, or utilizing a more original beat and sound. Their lyrics switch between spanish and english, but their english is quite shoddy at times.
