Hot Butter was an instrumental group of session players and was fronted by the keyboard player Stan Free. Free picked up Gershon Kingsley's track 'Pop Corn', covered it and had a global hit in 1972. Hot Butter made 2 albums filled with mostly covers: 'Hot Butter' and 'More Hot Butter'. Pop Corn became one of the first hit records based on extensive usage of Moog synthesizers.
