Reviews & Discussion

I am another Hugh Ashton, active in UK music from 78 to 88. I was sometimes confused with the Hugh Ashton listed here.

My bands were Ersatz, Film Noir, Boo Hewerdine's Placebo Thing, and Dr. Skull and the Crossbones, all in the Cambridge area, and I was a founding member of the Leisure Sounds label (chiefly putting out music Ersatz and the Dogma Cats - later the Great Divide - not on Leisure Sounds). I, rather than this Hugh Ashton here, was the producer of Motor Body Love, etc. on the Raw label. I'm also credited as co-producer of a few others, "Smile in Shadow/House of Cards" (Ersatz) and "Experts/Choke" (Dogma Cats) as well as "Wall after Wall/Addicted to Solitude" (Wallpaper Wallpaper).
