Reviews & Discussion

Review by StupydBoyz Mar 13, 2009 (edited 11 months ago)
In the beginning, Hunters & collectors was a strange band using percussions and trumpet. These guys have created a specific sound, mix between Killing Joke, Can and Captain Beefheart. Their powerfull rock offered very dense atmospheres, like movies tracks : often the music rose on hypnotic rythms and Mark Seymour's invocations appealed tortured spirits. Much more than Midnight Oil, they did incarnate a roots vision of Australia, full of sand, dust, trucks, "tremors" or "razorbacks" and weird spirits ; if Birthday Party may play the dark side of the city, Hunters & Collectors was the dark side of the outback. After 3 LPs, the band have chosen to play a more pop music and become a common band.
