Percussionist from Senegal, now living in France.
His professional carreer started at an age of 16 with the Rio Groupe. From 1976 till 1980 he was a (founding) member of Sahel De Dakar, one of the first modern Senegalese music. He started to tour all over the world with several jazz and afro funk artists. In 1983 he moved to France. In September 1985 he founded Les Gaîendés which used Senegalese language to sing about African social problems like apartheid and immigration.
