The Ikettes were originally a trio of female vocalists formed to back up the
Ike & Tina Turner Revue.
First known as the Artettes, the trio later changed it's name and began to record in 1960 ("A Fool In Love" with
Tina Turner).
For a brief period, the trio left the
Ike & Tina Turner revue to record under the name
Mirettes, The.
The line-up changed a lot between 1960 and 1973, bringing to light all sorts of different singers.
