Ricardo Rodrigues was born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal. At 14 years old he went to music school to learn the guitar, because he wanted to play it better than his musician father. Two intense years later Ricardo was already teaching scales and music theory to young children! He joined several bands, played in bars, at concerts and at festivals, but it was at the age of 17 that he discovered his true vocation for electronic music. Initially he only played it at home, for his friends, but after a couple of years he started playing it in clubs. In 2000 Ricardo moved to Holland to study electronic music production. Amazed by the Dutch techno scene, Ricardo remained in the Netherlands. New doors opened in 2003 when he took second place in the I Love Techno DJ contest. In 2005 he won the Dance Parade Rotterdam DJ contest. After a year in the studio Ricardo had developed his own sound and it didn't take long for him to receive recognition from other artists. In 2007 Cisco Ferreira (The Advent) discovered him and pushed his music onto the biggest dance-floors with a release on Kombination Research. Ricardo then did several tracks and remixes for artists like A. Paul, The Advent, Sven Wittekind, Christian Fisher, DJ Murphy and others. Late 2007 he opened his own label, CodeWorks, with Paulo Gomes (Efector). Their first release sold out in just one week! This success motivated him to start live acts in 2008.
