Keith McDonnell - Producer / DJ & owner of UK dance imprints baroque & Method records & remix - dj agency titanium artists (along with partner Mick park).
Keith has been DJing for the last 11 years and producing, on and off, for the last 4. As with most, he started out by dj’ing in his own back yard - Coventry - and gradually went further afield to venues like the legendary "Milk Bar" - London, the "House" & later the "Garage" club in Nottingham, Bonds in Birmingham . Though it was during his early days of DJing, at a local venue in Coventry, that he hooked up with fellow Coventry kid Mick Park (Tilt, Parks and Wilson). Having the same musical tastes they became friends and went on to produce together (with Mick Wilson) as Ritmo Rivals project.Towards the end of ‘99 the plan was hatched and Keith & Mick began work on setting up baroque records. Keith left his job as an engineer to look after the running of the label, they signed Odessi ‘Moments of Space’ and the rest is history.
As a DJ Keith plays "a solid selection of deep/tech & and progressive house" & already in 2001 has played in Tele-Aviv, Israel... Berlin, Germany... Dublin, Ireland.... Orlando & Miami, USA... Toronto, Canada.... As well as around the UK, Manchetser, Brighton, Birmingham etc. On the production side he works under his ‘Innate’ guise, reflecting - he hopes - the quality of his now established & influential Coventry counterparts Tilt and Quivver with his own tuff and twisted sound. Already planned for the year 2001 is the re-release of his ‘Innate’ - ‘changes’ track - now signed to Platipus - following it’s massive success on baroque, with support from all the usual suspects. It’s inclusion on various compilations (including the ‘Home’ CD mixed by Steve Lawler) and being used twice in Parks & Wilson’s Essential mix on Radio 1 helped raise the Innate profile. Also forthcoming will also is a collaboration with Andy Moor & Bill Hamel of Sunkissed Records which was produced @ Bills studio in Orlando alst year when keith went over to work with Bill for a couple of weeks. He has just finished an Innate remix of the next track on Method - Jade 'The Safar' - which is already recieving support off acetate from Pete Tong on his radio 1 show. Keith is currently in studio working on follow up Innate tracks due on both his own baroque imprint & Platipus in 2001.
On the DJing side a baroque tour is in progress with dates in America, Germany, Mexico, Scotland & Ireland, Australia and Canada as well as all over the UK. On top of all this he’ll be working hard to build up baroque & now Method records, it’s artists and it’s profile & Hopefully taking it to the top of DJs record boxes!
