JP Anderson

JP Anderson

Real Name:
John Paul Hammond Anderson
Profile:
JP Anderson (born in LA, California), is the main vocalist for Rabbit Junk and formely Shizit, The. After moving from California JP lived in England, Scotland, and Hawaii before finding himself in Seattle. JP had an varied background as from his young years he was already a major fan of Metal, Industrial, Punk, and "Gangsta rap" by the time he asked for a guitar on his 14th birthday. He played his first club gig at 15 and was in various Seattle bands as a bass player. After experimenting with a drum machine and discovering Digital Hardcore while visiting Germany, he decided he wanted to pursue a project that combined electronic and organic elements. He was also fiercely political at the time, having been recently exposed to the likes of Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky. In 1999 he formed the Shizit. He wrote several songs that laid the groundwork for the sound and then teamed up with Brian Shrader, taking the Shizit live and eventually releasing two EP's via mp3.com and a full length record on the fledgling Canadian label E115 records. The Shizit went on to do get over 400,000 mp3 down-loads from mp3.com and do a short tour with Alec Empire in the UK before calling it quits in ‘01. In ’02, while living in Los Angeles, California, JP started recording tracks for what would become the first Rabbit Junk album. JP would later hook with friend Jennifer "Sum Grrrl" Bernert, and the band Rabbit Junk was formed.
