Jewel Kid

J.J. Mejlak aka Jewel Kid was born in Malta on the 7th of September 1986. He started djing professionally at the tender age of fourteen playing in big events such as the tribu festival, trigger and lovesexy which made him Malta’s youngest and fastest growing professional DJ on the island. By the age of 16 he was already resident in Malta’s best known clubs - Barcode – Brass Monkey – Amazonia – Rum Jungle and Peppermint.
By the age of 18 Jewel Kid entered into the music production foray and within two short years he has now signed material on internationally renowned labels such as Cr2, Nervous, Proton, Fektive, Presslab, Apple Jaxx, Coraza, Seqsoul, Christian Music and Digital Jaxx.
The year 2007 saw Jewel Kid winning the Carl Cox Worldwide Remix Competition for Best House Remix which then reached the No.3 position on Beatport’s Top 100 House Chart.
