Reviews & Discussion

Few years on and I am still feeling the same. Also really feeling these comments (especially as I speak of him as the 'analogue' Max Cooper to my better half). None of his work has aged a day, and I genuinely compare this to some of the more intelligent classical music (it's the only modern day stuff you can, from a certain perspective) - I am genuinely perturbed that it will get lost in history with so much electronica about, it really deserves more ubiquitous recognition.

If art is supposed to be an accurate representation of consciousness, somehow Macksons internal dialogue language, being unique to himself, has somehow been painted so PRECISELY in this music that other people can get a sense of what he is talking about. And this, within the confines of Techno? Wow. Thwarted expression, poetry, whatever, eat your heart out!

somehow I feel a need to echo these comments. I don't think it can be overstated. I agree it makes a lot of really good techno sound tired and uninteresting. it's got that live tweaking feel - it breathes and it isn't always precise and clinical grade like max cooper for example, but it's so fucking sly it makes max cooper sound contrived and teenaged. more psychedelic than psy trance and more progressive than progressive - he's got his own thing and i'm with it! Tee Trinken and Grass is Greener are hilights for me.. but it's all gold.

Holy fuck this guy is the best thing running. Every single track is a banger, fucking genius. If he ever put out an LP I think I'd shit my pants.

mackson is fantastic. highly recommended for anyone into basic channel, the thinner label or dubby tech house stuff in general. the baff ep is especially good...the tracks come in around 12-13 minutes but they fly by when you're listening. i misread megalev's review at first and thought it was a slag but he's actually on point.

I can honestly say I really dont recommend listening to this guy. If you do, everything else will sound rubbish, amateur and unsatisfying, it will urinate on your collection, no matter how good you think it is, from a great height.

THIS IS ELECTRONIC MUSIC.
