Reviews & Discussion

One of my most fond memories from the early days of Storm Rave in Brooklyn is of Jimmy Crash working the crowd. Perched from on high (with his girlfriend in arm) and two large candles spinning atop the turntables, Jimmy raised his arms in shaman style as some hooverish track wailed through a room of a thousand whistle blowin' kids from all over the globe. Priceless.

Jimmy Crash. For the record Jimmy was one of the 6 original STORM Ravers. His recording career started with 'Crash Course' on Nu Groove which for a debut, landed him a couple of gigs in the U.K. and Germany before starting his own label Direct Drive with Adam X. There was several nice underground techno tracks on this label with the best being the Richie Hawtin remix of 'Radiation'. Jimmy also managed Sonic Groove during the Groove years in Brooklyn and chances are if you can go back into the Brooklyn Underground from 1990-1994, this is the man that sold you the jams. When the scene began to fade @ the Millenium, the man retired and moved to sunny Florida. And that
ends this story.
