Joshua Michaels grew up in San Jose, but it was during regular trips to Chicago that he began to really discover house, eventually hooking up with Prescription and Cajual Records. When Prescription fell apart, he returned to San Francisco to join up with Tweekin Records, where Michaels does A&R and wrote and produced four of its first five releases.
