K-Def first appeared as a Co-producer on many of Marley Marl's (better) tracks during the 90's. His blues/soul sampling production style is not dissimilar to fellow Marley Marl protege Pete Rock. K-Def teamed up with Larry-O and released the classic Nas-sampling "Real Live Shit" in 1995. They followed this up with an album on Big Beat records but since then it's been pretty quiet. K-Def stands along side Spencer Bellamy and Buckwild as one of the most wrongly slept on Hiphop producers of the 90's.
