Real Name:Kai Franz
Profile:Tracid is the contraction of Trance and Acid. Trance is his style and Acid his roots. In his beginning, Kai Tracid used many different other artist's names like for example Formic Acid, W.O.W. or Mac Acid, which were the Acid and Hard Trance sides of Kai MacDonald (in 1995) and it seems he began to use Kai Tracid in 1997. Of course he also produced Trance releases not only as Kai Tracid but under other names such as Arrow, The Attractor and Computer Controlled.

Kai Tracid is maybe not the greatest, but for me the most unique and most important trance artist ever. Nearly all of his songs are stunning, but its the wonderful lyrics that really makes the music special.
Listen and take a look at the lyrics in songs like for example "Suicide", "Conscious", "Express Your Hidden Passion" and "Too Many Times", and youll see what I mean! Kai Tracids music and lyrics usually includes themes like drugs, hallucinogens, consciousness, dreams, loneliness, depression, happiness, the meaning of life and peoples wish to find themselves. I know his music is not for everyone, but Im really happy Im one of those who can really understand the magic in the music. Because there is something special about Tracids music, something I really cant explain in words...
