Musician, producer and dance music entrepreneur.
Started up her label
U.K. House Records in May 1990 out of her Detroit home, inspired by local Techno Artists such as Derrick May and Jeff Mills. Her first singles, 'Think About It' and 'Living For Another' introduced U.K. House Records and herself to the underground music-community.
Realising the need to associate her label with the Detroit Techno dance scene, Kelli renamed it Acacia Records (after a street in Detroit). Subsequently, tunes like 'Ready For The Darkness', 'Serial Image', 'No Heartbreaks' and 'Can't Live Without Your Love' were released, with such collaborations like
Rhythm Formation (with ClaudeYoung) and
Chez Damier remixing
Can't Live Without Your Love adding the label's profile. Kelli then also started remixing other artists while some of her tracks got picked up by foreign labels.
Due to her growing success, Kelli decided to expand her horizon under the company name Hit Music Detroit, taking on new labels such as
379 West Records,
Matrix Records (Detroit) and Jagged Edge Records.
