Kid Congo Powers, Chicano renegade guitar stylist, is first and foremost known for his work in such seminal musical entities as The Gun Club (which he co-founded with singer Jeffrey Lee Pierce), The Cramps, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Congo Norvell. His untrained open-tuning style incorporates everything from No Wave Blues Slide to wall of noise fuzz to beautiful atmospherics - most of the time all in one song! Kid, whose singing is every bit as distinctive as his guitar work, has also achieved notoriety for his casual, yet passionate vocal delivery and resonant vocal tone. Additionally, the multi-talented Mr. Powers is a prolific songwriter and lyricist.
