Kweku Ananse

Kweku Ananse is a hip-hop DJ and producer from Accra, Ghana. A Part-time DJ at VIBE 91.9 FM in Accra, who also works for the label Pidgen Music, together with his partner Panji Anoff.

His name is derived from a mischievous character in Akan follklore, often depicted as a spider, and used to illustrate the cunning, greedy, illustrious, creative, flawed, funny, bold, childish, witty, clever, jealous, genius, selfish and communal nature of the collective.

His production style consists of the manipulation of objects - analog, digital, inanimate and human; to produce melodic sound vibrations, ubiquitous in the earth story according to men, women and children. Having worked with the likes of M3NSA, Wanlov The Kubolor, Akwadaa Nyame, Scientific, Anjolee, King Ayisoba and Modenine, Kweku Ananse released the album "Libation" in 2010, which included remixed material of Afro-pop legends Osibisa, and US rapper One Be Lo as well.
