In parallel to the J.K. project, Italian producers Davide Riva and Larry Pignagnoli created Lalene, a project later renamed Whigfield. Two singles were released under that alias. The first one was "Together", remixed in 1998 for a re-release. The other one was "The Best", which went on to be a big success in 1994. Annerley Gordon AKA Ann Lee, the future voice of Whigfield, is credited on this single, and is rumoured be the vocalist as well.
Another indicia leading to this conclusion: 'Lalene' seems to be some sort of alphabetical reconstitution of 'Ann Lee'.
