Pink Dots, The

Profile:
Founded in 1979, the Legendary Pink Dots occupy an important and individual place in the field of experimental and psychedelic music. The band is fronted by Edward Ka-Spel who doubles as singer and chief lyric writer, but other members including Phil Knight (The Silverman), Niels Van Hoorn, Martijn de Kleer and Raymond Steeg make up the current lineup of the band. The sound is often made up of a complex conglomerate of electronics, saxophones, guitars, drums and Ka-Spel's distinctive voice and unique lyrical invention. Side projects of the band include: The Tear Garden, Twilight Circus, The Silverman and lots of others. Martijn de Kleer rejoined the band for its 25th Anniversary Tour.

though there must be hundred thousands of LPD fans starting to cry when they hear "i love you in your tragic beauty" or "premonition 16" or "any day now" or any other "hit" by this most incredible band they remain underrated as hell. this is mostly because they simply define their own musical scales and skills. the PIAS-albums ANY DAY NOW, CRUSHED VELVET APOCALYPSE, THE GOLDEN AGE and MARIA DIMENSION or the ultra-timeless cooperation with SKINNY PUPPY as TEAR GARDEN in the mind-blowing TIRED EYES, SLOWLY BURNING are as innovative and breathtaking as the BEATLES or THE WHITE NOISE must have been back in their own times... and I am trying not to exagerate. I respectful take a bow in front of this band.
