Roland Voss (Lemongrass) has a rich musical background spanning three decades. During the '70s, he played drums with numerous rock groups, funk bands, and jazz ensembles. During the '80s, Voss developed a penchant for electronic instruments. Having patiently honed his skills, in '97 Voss released his debut album as Lemongrass, "Drumatic Universe", on a small German imprint called Incoming! The clever and ever-so-laid-back folks at Mole Listening Pearls (a subsidiary of UCMG) were so impressed they sought him out, signed him, and have kept him on their roster for many years.
In 2005 Roland and his brother Daniel founded the label "Lemongrassmusic" on which they have released the Lemongrass album "Ikebana", "Filmothèque" and "Pour l'amour" and the digital EP "Ambient land" as well as music of their side projects "Jasmon" and "Weathertunes" and two Lounge/Chillout/Ambient compilation series "Lemongrass Garden" and "Lounge du soleil".
Further releases by Lemongrass have appeared on the Japanese label "Receptortune".
