Jim Messia met a young singer songwriter by the name of Kenny Loggins in 1970. The recorded some songs together and prepared the album, "Kenny Loggins with Jim Messina Sittin' In", which was intented to use Messina's name and experience to launch Loggins. However, the success of the album led them to create a formal partnership, and they recorded six studio albums together, as well as touring extensively. Loggins went on to solo success after they split in 1976, however, the duo began touring together again in 2005.
