Real Name:
Joan Malé / Xavi Lloses
Profile:
Lumière was started by Joan Malé and Xavi Lloses in 1999.After they meet playing in some bands, they decided to start a new project based on funk, house and jazz.Influenced by french house,Lumière born and a year after they had a 12" (2000) on the Barcelona's defunct label Newtone Records, run by Xavi Newtone and Lief Ryan. After that, they was playing in many Barcelona clubs with a good feedback like La Terrazza, Salsitas, Bongo Lounge (La Paloma), Rachdingue (Girona) and many others. Some more new tracks came and they decided to stop for a while until 2003,focusing more in production than playing in live.
At that time they added new musicians, Alex Rigol (Guitar) and Yago Delàs (Percussions),even that they was focused on production they did some gigs, the most important in the Girona Jazz Festival (2003).Was in that time when they release a track on a compilation (Pink Funk in New Sound Theory II,2003) and the music for a TV spot. The idea of a group wasn't successful and they decided to follow working again with the original Lumière and released another track in New Sound Theory III (Believer,2004).
After that they focused in other projects.
