As much as their first album 'I Guess Sometimes...' isn't 'love' at first listening, it will undoubtedly grow with every next one. The duo is truly strange and remarkable combination of bleeps that become quite hard to detect by genres definition - while their debut album is a massive electronic sound killer with occasional sentiments signalling friendly flavours ("Oh darlin'" for instance), their latest contribution 'The Man Who Ate the Man' proves Magnetophone isn't some Autechre-esque novelty, adding a mixture of styles to embrace their uniqueness.
