MAINFRAME started early as keyboarder in various school-punk and grunge bands in the mid/late 80s where he first introduced his computer-controlled synthesizer, sequencer and beatmachines. In the 90s he joint forces with 2 friends to build a complete analog studio / production facility in the basement of a parking house, sharing all existent gear and hugely investing in more equipment. Besides playing in and engineering the band, MAINFRAME and his partner KABUKI in crime started producing electronic music such as house, breakbeat and drum'n'bass. At this time they founded the label "PRECISION BREAKBEAT RESEARCH" as a specialized release platform and enjoyed producing cutting edge club music under diverse aliases like MEGASHIRA, KABUKI, Makai, ONO SENDAI, MK2, etc. and running several dnb club nights in the city. While studying computer science in Frankfurt, he was working as a freelance mastering engineer at Toolhouse Mastering while setting up multiple incarnations of the original SYNCOM studio. Around Y2K he and KABUKI run a studio-suite at the FUNDEMENTAL facilities with co-ops producing music and sound for computer games, ads and multimedia. Working as producer and engineer for many projects over quiet some years he started his own studio when moving to Frankfurts Northern-end, a nice creative part of the town with many music interested people, producers, labels and djs, now home of MAINFRAME ANALOG MASTERING (www.analog-mastering.com) audiophile analog mastering + production suite.
