Reviews & Discussion

Ralphie Dee, a very experienced Radio and Disco DJ met Lenny D back in the eighties, and their partnership is at the original of the very influential project Major Problems. As Major Problems, they brought a special atmosphere to the Universe of dance music, combining very singular synthesizer timbres and the hot rhythm lines (breakbeat influenced) from neighbourhoods such as Brooklyn and Queens.

Their releases on Nu Groove became an inspiration to several House, Techno, Breakbeats, Jungle & Drum n' Bass artists since then: "City Under Siege" was recorded on Tommy Musto Studios and had a Joey Beltram Mix for "Manslaughter" called First Degree Mix; "The Effects Can Last Forever" was programmed and edited by Joey Beltram himself - its main tune, "Overdose", was a big hit on the underground UK scene.
