Even with a small number of productions currently under his belt, the unique and distinctive sound that Maor Levi is developing makes him one of those producers to look out for in the near future. Debut release ‘Lital’ is an energetic progressive trance number harnessing Levi’s trademark stutter vocal effects, which are chopped up, looped and dispersed to great effect. However, the follow-up release ‘Reflect’ perhaps serves as an even better indicator of the young Israeli’s talent; the sound is darker, more sensual, the percussion and bassline harder and deeper and the vocal effects employed with greater effect, yet the strong melodic elements of its predecessor remain.

Under his Maori alias, Levi has demonstrated his versatility with a number of techier individual productions and remixes, notably ‘Destruct’, with its relentless barrage of pulsating synths and ‘Toaster’, with its crunchy and abrasive soundscapes. There are undoubtedly many more great productions to come.
