Why isn't Marc Mitchell the most famous name in the progressive trance-scene?
I actually don't have any good answer to that, because for me he is without a doubt the most talented producer the progressive scene has ever seen! Together with Brian Transeau and James Holden of course...
I hope you all have heard his timeless classics under his aliases Human Movement and Sunday Club! "Love has come again", "Traveller's theme", "Paladian dawn", "Healing dream", "Eterna's flight", "Winds of change" etc. etc...
And don't forget his awesome remixes for Sunscreem, Jean Michell Jarre, Art of Trance, Deepsky to name a few...

All these masterpieces have, even though their total uniqueness, something in common. And that is that Marc Mitchell always somehow succeed to throw in a whole lot of emotion in his music. Even though he makes the toughest in-your-face tech-trance you can imagine (thinking of "Traveller's theme", "Ecliptic spin" and some parts of "Eterna's flight") the beauty and the emotions are always still there! He is the only one who can do that in my opinion!


And now I'm going to talk about his less famous projects. Ever heard of The Positive Light? Or Ordinary People?
The Positive Light was a project with Marc Mitchell, Marc Daghorn and the very famous progressive rock-band Marillion. So how did that sound? Well, check out the cd, "Tales of the engine room", which you can buy almost anywhere because of Marillion's fame! It's a blend of ambient rock (mostly ambient) and progressive trance, and you can for sure hear that typical mr. Mitchell-sound!
Then what about Ordinary People? Under this alias Mitchell only produced ONE single song, calles Mahatma. Made in 1997, a thirteen minute long epic progressive house monster! In my opinion Marc Mitchell's best song ever, and one of my top 5 favourites ever! This text is from www.marcmitchell.co.uk:

"The spoken vocal's were recorded by 60 year old spiritualist & crystoligist Dr John Armitige while visiting the island doing some workshops. The Mahatma energy is pure love. We had reports of people in club's dropping to there knee's in tears because of this tune. It stayed at No. 1 in Renaissance's Nigal Dawsons chart for a staggering 12 weeks. Recorded with a selection of enlightened individuals, including my better half Karen, Mahatma really is a very magical tune."

So as you can see, this song means a lot to Mitchell. To me to! But of some reason this song wasn't officially released! So happy finding! =D

Anyway, cheers for the most talented progressive producer in our time! Respect!
