Material Issue

Real Name:
Jim Ellison (vocals, guitar), Ted Ansani (bass, vocals) & Mike Zelenko (drums).
Profile:
Illinois based band consisting of Jim Ellison, Ted Ansani & Mike Zelenko. After playing the Chicago circuit, Material Issue released a series of singles in 1987 on small labels. Their first major label release through Mercury Records "International Pop Overthrow" compiled all these tracks giving them strong success on the college radio circuit as well as critical acclaim. After releasing two more records ("Destination Universe" & "Freak City Soundtrack") the group began working on their fourth album "Telecommando Americano". Sadly before the album was released, lead singer Jim Ellison committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning on June 20th, 1996. "Telecommando Americano" was later released shortly after his death.
