Matti is one of very few artists who embraces the dreamiest of Trance sounds. Everything he produces has a very floaty atmosphere which is perfect for dream freaks like myself! If there was to be a Greatest Hits CD (answer my prayers, please!) of this amazing artist, the whole CD would be good. You can't pin-point a favourite with this guy, that's for sure. It's as if he teaches you to give everything he makes a chance, a point which is more than valid with Matti's work.

So some of you are probably thinking it's not true that everything is equally good and that there must be at least one production which is a bit above the rest. Maybe you're right? Observe, if you will, the wonderous track from Matti's real-name alias called "Live". And if you think the original's the best thing he's ever done, then feast your ears on his Dusk To Dawn remake. It's like a musical interpretation of Heaven itself.

I honestly can't stress enough how much you should hear this guy's work. Because once you hear something by Matti Laamanen, there's no turning back, baby!

Matti Laamanen, despite having only heard a small number of tracks from his back catalogue, is one of my favourite trance producers. His productions (especially under his Sundawner alias) have a classy, almost sophisticated sound to them, always rich in melody and tremendously uplifting. His sound is unmistakeable, his original productions in particular generously garnished with gliding swathes of synths and dreamy soundscapes. Unfortunately, I have thus far been unable to find any of his previous productions under his own name or under his other alias, Cosmicman. Nevertheless, with a recent production from his Sundawner alias under his belt, I am anticipating (and indeed hoping) that I will be able to hear many more great productions in the future from this highly talented Finn.
