Maurizio

Maurizio is an Italian DJ resident at Club Space in Miami. He is also a musician/producer. He is the one half of the popular duo MAURIZIO and DANYELINO, that is rocking Miami dancefloors right now!
He is Label Manager and owner of Sleazetech Records, Miami 's first Minimal/Tech label.
His release "Autopilot" on Nuhar Records was featured by Dubfire (Deep Dish) on Mix Magazine UK CD's mix in 2007. He is also one of the artists to be published on SCI+TEC records.
Maurizio Ruggiero's versatility allows him to work with many different deejays and music styles, He started as a jazz pianist/drummer and he got in to electronics and computer programming at the same time since the age of 16. Influenced by the early sounds of electronica he merged his knowledge of computers with music and started to compose with a Commodore Amiga and a program called Fasttracker in the middle 80's. He eventually got in to Neapolitan underground Scene playing keyboards for some local DJ's. His music was first featured on a vinyl in 1995 with Deeper EP by Groove Shapers. Following his departure from Naples (Italy) to Miami he immediately started working for local dj Robbie Rivera that recruited him for a series of remixes. In this period Maurizio was signed on HENRY STREET records one of STRICTLY RHYTHMS sublabels with two EPs called LEMON JUICE Part 1 and 2. In the following years he became resident Dj in a series of big clubs in Miami. In 2006 Maurizio started producing Miami local dj Cedric Gervais and he is currently finishing his new album coming soon on ULTRA Records.
Tired of the Miami commercial music scene he decided to go back to his real love for the underground music and started working hard in the studio. As of today Maurizio Ruggiero's own sound is consistent with his spinning and is an amalgamation of techy grooves and minimal sonorities with a pinch of housy feels. Energetic and technically skilled behind the decks, has mastered a sure ability in dominating the dancefloors.
He has now achieved the top spot of Resident DJ at SPACE MIAMI one he is one of the founders of the LINK techno parties happening in Miami.
