Melek-Tha

Melek-tha is a good example on how darwinian theories doesn't apply in some cases.
Fixated with apocalyptical/satanic rhetorics, obssessed with mechanical war drum loops and taking samples from all movies involving such themes his work couldn't be any more obvious. Melek-tha simply can't evolve. (and introducing noise to his latest efforts can't be considered an exception to the rule)
One can easily expect what can come after every new album. The same, over and over again.
You can pick one random album from his starts, one of his mid period and one from the most recent ones and you can't really distinguish any difference, except probably that the most recent ones are more noise oriented. It is the same over and over again. Never ending loops of marches more samples from movies, and the eternal obsession with the apocalypsis (in a christian way).
His work deals with a alienated vision of a very particular (and again, christianized understanding of the figure of satan) and more than other thing a total misanthropic/nihilistic feeling towards existence (very familiar attitude with Black metal and lot better worked by many other bands "Puissance" could be a good example). His works induce trance or hypnosis by way of a constant repetition and thats a good point if it could evolve into something more...but his drum war loops never change, are all static and predictable. the atomosphere of opression sugested gots nulified by the boredom of its own monotony.
A masturbatory compulsive more than a proper nihilistic music assault. His beginings promised an interesting prospect of a project but considering all his vast discography one can be truly sure this band achieved his peak and can only expect the obligatory decadence of his exhausted vault.
