Members Of Mayday

Profile:
German producer team consisting of WestBam and Klaus Jankuhn, designated to exclusively create the official anthems for each edition of the Mayday rave events. Thus the project is conceived and entitled to represent the Mayday and its members.

Actually founded and first used in 1993, the previous anthems for the Mayday events were originally released under "Westbam" still, but later on re-assigned.
The very first and appropriately entitled "Mayday Anthem" was created for the second Mayday event in April 1992.

Mayday themes and according anthem titles:

14.12.1991 - Best Of House & Techno '91 - [no official anthem]
30.04.1992 - A New Chapter Of House And Techno - "The Mayday Anthem"

30.04.1996 - The Day X - "The Day X"
14.12.1996 - Life On Mars - "Live From Mars"

Reviews & Discussion

Yes, I so totally agree.. The old days ARE unfortunely gone.
Members / Westbam totaly blew my mind! Used to skip 1st hour of school all the time,
because I just had to watch "Mayday - The VideoMix -'91/'93 ! Couldn't go before "Celebration Generation"
was finished hehe.. Useally I watch the whole video, as I didn't have a copy on anything else than the VHS.

And why doesn't Low Spirit Rec do a Digital Restoration & re-release it on at least DVD (& BVD) ??!!
I have digitilized it to my computer, but the tape is not in the best shape =((

I even have a "Members Of Mayday" logo Tattoo on my left arm ! =)

Unfortunately the old days have gone. Every time i was able to find a record of Members of Mayday i was very happy and couldn't wait to hear it. I don't feel the same any more. I think that the electro style is very soft for these guys. It doesn't have energy. The base drum is soft and it feels that the parts of the songs are repeated. It's just monotony. Remember songs like We are different, Life from Mars, Bells of reformation, Judgement day, Enter the arena. We can say that was a different era, different style. Anyway, hope to return to the old days. Besides, they still remain legends.

The group that started me to be a Techno Freak. Their Single Great is still one of the best tracks in my collection. Sad to see that Westbam is now lazy and he knows that he can get away with simple tracks because the fame he has. Hoping they will get back to their old days.
