The owner of this site Kevin L sent me a cdr of Metro Area in mid 2002 of the first couple singles and like most when first heard Metro Area, no matter who you were no matter what you were into you picked up everything you could from them. 10 years on and probably 7 years since I played them today I did. Muira is still absolutely the goods. Caught up, Soft Hoop and Strut are others. Morgan Geist was hitting on all cylinders around this time (Lullaby for example) and nearly everything he touched turned to solid gold. Yes like the show ;) Timeless tracks that blend the easy going with seriousness looking backwards in time while reveling in it and feeling alive. Music that bridges backgrounds, lines and sexes. You can't hate here.
I only discovered Metro Area about a year ago. Where have I been hiding?! They encompass all of the best elements of House Music, from downtempo swinging beats to with quirky up-tempo bounce. Always managing to sound smooth, laid-back and subtle, Metro Area really do tick all the boxes. I would really like to hear a whole lot more from these guys, and I hope they continue to make their unique blend of House Musica for many years to come...

Don't know if you have, but if you didn't you should. Metro Area is one of the revelations in music of the passed decade. Elaboratism springs to mind and yes they conquer that. If not I guess you should get your ears checked. Obviously the words above should be enough, but if you need more i'll be of service. Listen to the music of Metro Area...
