Moving Pictures (2)

Real Name:
Paul Freeland, Ian Lees, Charlie Cole, Garry Frost, Andrew Thompson, Alex Smith
Profile:
Although they had many fine songs to their credit, it's the Number One single from 1982, What About Me?, that this band will always be remembered for. That sweeping ballad, led by the all-powerful vocalist Alex Smith doesn't really represent the rocking side of the band. They also wrote; Joni And Romeo, Bustin' Loose and Spies.
Moving Pictures is one of the most successful Australian bands, both at home and abroad, of the last couple of decades.Formed in Sydney in 1979, they had originally set out to be a good hard rocking pub band. Ironically, it was a stirring pop ballad from their 1981 debut album that made their name and fortune. "What About Me" was a massive hit in Australia and went onto be No.1 in 20 U.S. states and spent 43 consecutive weeks in the US Billboard Charts!."What About Me" and their follow up hits are all featured on this 19 track Ultimate Collection.
