The band's name refers to a Russian cartoon series of the late 1970s and early 1980s called "Nu, pogodi!", meaning "Just you wait!"
In May 2005 Doreen Steinert left the band, and in November of the same year (only ten months after their formation) the remaining members announced their official split due to "musical differences".
