Odetta Gordon (December 31, 1930 – December 2, 2008) was a Soul / Folk singer. She was born on December 31st in 1930 and started her career at the age of 19 in Los Angeles. Her first solo record was released in 1954 after moving to New York in 1953.
Even if her activity was less productive than in the 60's (sixteen records in the decade), Odetta was always part of the music industry.

On December 2nd, 2008 Odetta died in New York City.
