Oliver Kapp was born near Frankfurt, Germany in 1969. At the age of 4 he had his first contacts with percussion instruments as a pupil of the Carl-Orff-School for children. Some time later he started playing other instruments like flute and electric organ. At the age of 10 he focused more and more on Rap, Funk, Afro and Electronic Music like Manu Dibango, Africa Bambaataa, Mantronix and the sound of the early Salsoul and Prelude Records.
In 1983 he started the mixing and collecting of underground music (at this time mostly imports from the USA). This was followed of many experiences as a DJ on small parties. 1986 he worked in an import-record shop called "Tractor" in Hamburg. This was also the time he started playing in Clubs.
In summer 1990 he promoted his first party with Boris Dlugosch in Munich. 1991 he started his first own Club Project called 'Toxicc' in Nuremberg where he booked and played with people like Jeff Mills, Derrick may, Armando, Felix The Housecat, ... one
year later he started his own weekly radioshow called "Technoclub" on Radio N1. The show just focused on Detroit Techno and was running for two years with over 10.000 listeners every week. During this time he opened the 'Recordshop' in Nuremberg and worked in it until 1995.
Since 1995 he is currently busy running his own label
Indulge Records and the sublabel
Raygun Records.
The sound of his work as DJ and Producer was influenced by his roots: Electronic Funk & Jazz and the sound from New York / Chicago / Detroit.
