Oliver Sain

Oliver Sain (born 1st of March 1932, died 28th of Oct. 2003 from bone cancer): writer, record producer, owner of Vanessa Records, keyboardplayer and saxophonist who also managed soul singer Fontella Bass. Hit it big in 1974 with rare-groove disco classic "Bus stop", to coincide with the new disco dance craze. It's a sax instrumental with funky wah-wah style backing and bassline. The follow up, "The double bump", also worked well in a similar style. Further songs to listen for were a bit less sax orientated, and a bit more conventional disco sounding. Listen for wah-wah classic "She's a disco queen", "Get up and hustle", "Party hearty" and his later track (also on 12")
"B-OO-G-IE" with its classic disco b-side "Feel like dancin'".
