Origin, The

Michael Andrews- Vocals, guitar. Topper Rimel- Bass, guitar, vocals. Daniel Silverman- Piano, keyboards, vocals. Rony Abada- Drums.

Now defunct band originally from San Diego, The Origin was created by lead vocalist Michael Andrews and Gary Jules. Before their first album was released, Jules left the band. After releasing two albums on Virgin, neither album achieved much financial success but garnered a strong college following. The band broke up soon afterwards.

Michael Andrews went on to join The Greyboy Allstars and then a solo effort, most notably doing a cover of Tears For Fears' "Mad World" with Gary Jules for the "Donnie Darko" soundtrack.
