Pacou

Real Name:
Lars Lewandowski
Profile:
Pacou was born and raised in Berlin where he still lives and works at present. Back in 1989 the sounds of House and Techno music took off there. He became a music collector and went to parties and club events, which had a great influence on his future career. In 1996 he released his first record under the name "agent cooper" (on the label "Raw Music") and in 1996 he released his first single on Tresor as "Pacou". Soon after, Tresor released Pacou’s first album "Symbolic Language", and he became a resident DJ at the club. The year 1998 marked a substantial progress in both DJ and production aspects of his career. He started playing around Europe, Japan and Australia, and changed over to fulltime work on music and performing as DJ. In 1998, Pacou founded his first own label "LL Records" to release some of his own material. A third LP "State of mind" was released in 2000, furthermore singles on the labels Djax, Konsequent, Music Man and others. Tour dates again ranged from Brasil to Australia. Tresor released another single "Last Man Standing" in February 2004 and a whole album "The Berlin Sessions" produced with Juan Atkins in 2005. His current project is the record label "Cache Records", which started in 2005.

Reviews & Discussion

if you want some pretty fair and average techno look no further.
Review by kvogel Sep 16, 2009
This guy makes quality techno with real feel and groove, he knows the mechanics of techno. I find his style hard and intelligent, the way I like it. One of my all time favourite producers. Just check out his mixes. His productions are lost gems of techno mechanics, the Fireball EP being one of my favourites. I'd much rather hear this stuff in a sweaty club than the commercial 'electro' bullshit that passes for music these days. Real music. I wish he was more well known and would come to the UK!

This guy knows what techno is all about. He keeps his tracks plain and simple yet effective and interesting.
Most probably none of his tracks will ever be classics but a Pacou 12" or LP is never money wasted and his records are a must have for any techno DJ.
Pacou is a real Twin Peaks freak, so much even he released stuff under the name Agent Cooper (main character in the series and movies). For that alone the guy deserves my eternal respect.
