In 1987, Heppner founded the duo Wolfsheim with whom he became well known in the underground. Later he collaborated with Joachim Witt, Schiller, and Paul Van Dyk, which made him well known to a wider public.
Further, he has done guest vocals for many other artists.
Left Wolfsheim in January 2009 due to personal differences.
