Phonetik has been active in the Swedish hip hop since 1999, when he released Sounds of Speech. A critically acclaimed EP. That today is considered one of the few Swedish hip hop classics. Phonetik is considered to be one of Sweden’s best live acts and he has numerous live shows behind him. Among the bigger ones you’ll find, The World Expo in Hannover & The Hulstfred Festival. Phonetik stands out from the crowd mainly due to his freestyle shows, where he is known to improvise entire live sets.
After the success of "Sound of speech" Phonetik started working on a album. But most of the material was stolen when someone broke into to their studio. And since it has been quite from Phonetiks front. But in 2008 rumours started spreading about a new album and it was confirmed in 2008s february edition of the swedish hip-hop magazine Kingsize. The new album "Survival Tactics" is planned to be released the fall 2009.
